Leading community health. Driving systems change.

Supporting a Healthy Community

Health equity is not optional — it is essential to the future of Prince William County.

The Prince William County Community Foundation does more than support health initiatives — we help lead and align community-wide efforts that address the root causes of health disparities. We convene partners, mobilize resources, and champion coordinated strategies that create measurable, lasting impact.

Working alongside healthcare providers, schools, public agencies, and community leaders, we focus on critical priority areas affecting our residents:

  • Substance use and mental health conditions
  • Obesity, access to healthy foods, and physical activity
  • Access to healthcare, including immunizations, physicals, and dental care

Our role is intentional and action-driven. We help identify gaps, elevate data-informed solutions, strengthen collaboration, and support implementation efforts that move beyond short-term interventions toward sustainable systems change.

By integrating health with food security, education, and community engagement, we address the interconnected factors that shape overall well-being.

At PWCCF, we are not simply participating in community health conversations — we are helping shape the future of health access and equity in Prince William County.

Signature Initiative

Back-to-School Community Event

The PWCCF Back-to-School Community Event is more than an annual gathering — it is a county-wide movement to ensure every child begins the school year prepared, confident, and ready to succeed.

As rising costs continue to strain working families, school readiness has become a growing challenge. From backpacks and classroom supplies to required immunizations and physicals, the barriers facing families are real — and they are widening. Without intervention, these obstacles can delay attendance, disrupt learning, and deepen inequities.

Through strategic partnerships with schools, healthcare providers, businesses, and community leaders, we mobilize resources to provide essential supplies, health access, and supportive services in one coordinated, high-impact event. We bring together public and private partners to remove barriers before the first bell rings.

When families walk away from our Back-to-School Community Event, they leave equipped, connected, and empowered.

At PWCCF, we don't just prepare students for school — we prepare our community for success.
